Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution – also known as Conflict Management, Conflict Transformation or Peace Building – is a conscious process of attempting to resolve a dispute or conflict. The term is applicable to conflicts ranging from those involving individuals; communities or organizations; ethnic, religious or political groups; and even entire nations.

Conflict Resolution is an established field of research, study and practice widely known throughout the United States, Europe and, increasingly, around the world. Practitioners in the field believe that conflict is a natural part of life which can have both positive and negative outcomes. While differences are healthy, they become disputes when not addressed or understood. Disputes can then escalate into destructive conflict if not well managed.

But conflict is not always destructive. It can also be positive and inspire needed change. Through various strategies and methodologies, practitioners in the field of Conflict Resolution aim to minimize the negative and promote the positive outcomes of conflict.

Meta-Culture Dialogics uses the Conflict Resolution methods of Mediation , Dialogue , Consensus Building and Dispute Management to help people in conflict approach their situations positively and proactively. In addition to empowering people to resolve their own conflicts, we encourage them to think of conflicts as opportunities for learning.
