Dispute Management

Dispute Management is a process by which organizations seek to resolve internal conflicts or conflicts with external partners or stakeholders. The process is intended to improve the capabilities of managers and employees to prepare for and manage conflict rather than react to disputes only when they arise.

Meta-Culture Dialogics has developed a unique Integrated Dispute Management System (IDMS) to help organizations responsibly and effectively manage disputes. The IDMS combines a series of interventions to help organizations identify the underlying causes of conflicts and then develop solutions to address them. Intended as an alternative to conventional grievance policies that ignore or escalate disputes and cause further divisions, the IDMS is designed to help organizations manage disputes in a non-adversarial way that promotes employee responsibility and collaboration.

As part of the IDMS, we encourage organizations to institutionalize the method of Mediation as a first action step in assisting disputing parties to manage their differences. Organizations that use trained in-house mediators to address disputes create an internal culture of ownership, neutrality, productive communication and trust.
